Ingredients

Crack chicken deviled eggs
  • 12 large eggs
  • 0.3333333333 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp dry ranch seasoning
  • 0.5 cup cooked chicken, finely shredded
  • 0.25 cup shredded cheddar
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan
  • 1 Dutch oven

Method

Boil and chill the eggs
  1. Place the large eggs in a pot and cover with cold water, then bring to a boil. Cover the pot, remove from heat, and let the eggs stand 12 minutes until set.
  2. Chill the eggs in an ice bath for 10 minutes. Peel and halve the eggs lengthwise, keeping the whites intact.
Make the crack chicken filling
  1. Mash the egg yolks with mayonnaise, cream cheese, and dry ranch seasoning until smooth. Keep mashing until there are no visible yolk lumps.
  2. Fold in the cooked chicken, shredded cheddar, and half the bacon until evenly combined. Mix just until the add-ins are distributed.
Fill, top, and chill
  1. Spoon the filling generously into the egg whites. Pile it high enough so the filling holds a mound shape.
  2. Top with the remaining bacon and fresh chives, then chill until serving. Keep covered in the refrigerator so the tops stay fresh.

Notes

For the smoothest filling, soften the cream cheese fully before mixing and mash the yolks thoroughly until you don’t see grainy texture. Store assembled deviled eggs covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days (best texture within 24–48 hours). Freeze is not recommended. For a lower-fat option, swap mayonnaise and cream cheese for reduced-fat versions while keeping the same seasonings and mix-ins.
