Brown the sausages
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add cocktail sausages and brown for 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally until they’re lightly browned.
Build the glaze
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, stirring so it doesn’t burn.
- Whisk honey, whole grain mustard, Dijon mustard, and soy sauce, then pour the mixture over the sausages.
Simmer until sticky
- Simmer for 8-10 minutes over medium heat, stirring often, until the glaze is thick and sticky and coats the sausages.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped fresh chives, then serve warm with toothpicks.
Notes
Pro tip: stir frequently during the 8-10 minute simmer so the honey-mustard glaze stays glossy and thick rather than scorching. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days; rewarm in a skillet over low heat with a splash of water to loosen the glaze. Freezing is not recommended because the glaze texture can turn grainy after thawing. For a lower-sugar option, use a no-sugar-added honey substitute (or a 1:1 sugar-free syrup) in the same amount.
